Community Solar Act of 2021

On April 5, 2021, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the Community Solar Act into law which became effective on June 18, 2021.  This Act requires the NM Public Regulation Commission to adopt rules to establish a community solar program no later than April 1, 2022.  In essence, the community solar program is still under development.  This new law includes an “opt-in” provision for rural electric cooperatives which means tha

NM Emergency Rental Assistance Program

In 2020, the U.S. Congress appropriated funding to the U.S. Department of Treasury to provide emergency rental assistance to households experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.  Funding is also available for utility assistance and other expenses related to housing costs (i.e.

With the rising interest and availability of the electric vehicle (EV), RCEC’s Board of Trustees has approved a new addition to our rebate programs.  We will be offering a $250.00 rebate to residential members of the cooperative for a Level II EV Charger.  Details are as follows:


2022 High School & Returning College Student Scholarship applications


Applications are now available on our website, at your HS counselor's office and at the Co-op office located at 121 N. Main Ave, Portales.  Deadline is Friday, January 7, 2022, in our office by 5 p.m.
